Artist Story
"When I work in my studio I think of childhood memories of our family vacations at the shore in Connecticut and New Jersey. It was there that I would carefully select shells and turn them into necklaces and bracelets.
I bring those memories and my love of jewelry to my designs in elegant creations using precious and semi-precious stones and pearls in gold, silver, bronze, copper and brass.
I am also inspired by the view from my home studio in the beautiful Hudson Valley, though you can still often see the inspiration of the shore in my designs. But my jewelry also captures a certain chic metropolitan aesthetic and sensibility no doubt influenced by my education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and the years I lived there. It is these influences that come together as my vision and brand and why I describe RORY SOLAN DESIGNS as "Classic Elegance In Contemporary Design."
