“Edison Pearls” are the latest in a LONG line of Freshwater pearl experiments that are aimed at taking on the legendary White and Golden South Sea pearls from Australia.
These pearls are produced by a few radical pearl farms in China, and have only been available for 3-4 years now on the markets.
The average size of an Edison pearl ranges between 11.0-16.0mm (!!!!). They're able to attain these sizes, because like South Sea oysters, the Freshwater mollusk is nucleated with only ONE bead at a time. This allows the mollusk to direct all its attention at creating a single amazing pearl with South Sea pearl sizes . But what separates Edison pearls from
the rest are the colors. Oh!!! The colors!  Violets, magentas, bright flashes of blues shimmer over every bit of surface area on each pearl. They are absolutely metallic. It must be seen to be believed. These are natural, not dyed colors.  They have intense luster and unique orient and quality.
They debuted at the Hong Kong Jewelry Shows in 2014 and took the market and pearl community by storm.

I am beyond thrilled to have been able to offer these pearls to a few special customers, and will continue to show them, as they become available to me, at my upcoming shows.
